{"id":424,"date":"2021-06-08T04:14:39","date_gmt":"2021-06-08T08:14:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.for-a.com\/blog\/?p=424"},"modified":"2021-06-08T04:14:59","modified_gmt":"2021-06-08T08:14:59","slug":"210608","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.for-a.com\/blog\/210608\/","title":{"rendered":"Kern High School District Preps Students for Professional Video Careers with FOR-A"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-background has-vivid-red-background-color has-vivid-red-color is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>When Kern High School District\u2019s new Career Technical Education Center needed a switcher to support its hands-on digital video coursework, school officials chose the FOR-A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.for-a.com\/products\/hvsxt100_xt110\/index.html?utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=blogpost&amp;utm_campaign=blog210608\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">HVS-100<\/a>, because it offered the most value for the budget and as an instructional tool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"687\" src=\"https:\/\/www.for-a.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/CTEC_FOR-A_HVS-100_210608.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-426\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cGiving the students this kind of experience with this kind of technology is not only a great experience in school,\u201d said Lisa Krch, instructor for the Video Production\/Advanced Film and Cinema program at CTEC, \u201cbut it really gives them an advantage when it comes to getting a job in this field.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CTEC\u2019s multi-room video production facility is a \u201cbig step up\u201d from the portable where Krch had previously been teaching. Its control room also features a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.for-a.com\/products\/classx\/index.html?utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=blogpost&amp;utm_campaign=blog210608\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ClassX character generator<\/a>, which Krch said is very intuitive. FOR-A is the exclusive distributor of ClassX in North, Central, and South America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The HVS-100 is very user friendly <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Krch praised the HVS-100, noting the compact control panel is not intimidating. \u201cIt\u2019s very user friendly and students feel comfortable jumping right in,\u201d she added. \u201cThat ease of use is going to be a big asset in this teaching environment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The HVS-100 allows the school to produce live coverage of a variety of programs and events<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Beyond studio shoots, the HVS-100 will also be used to switch multi-camera productions from Innovations Hall, a 250-seat auditorium in the new facility. The studio cameras can be moved downstairs to the auditorium and connected to the control room via fiber, allowing the school to produce live coverage of a variety of programs and events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Providing students with great career exploration<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Krch has already been contacted by community partners who want to work with CTEC students to create PSAs and other content. \u201cPart of our mission at CTEC is to provide our students with career exploration,\u201d she noted. \u201cWe have a lot of projects coming that are going to be very exciting for our students and our community.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Is your school ready to step up to professional video production results?
