Multi Format Player
MBP-100MP |
The MBP-100MP is a 1RU size multi-format player offering HD-SDI output of miscellaneous files.
The major file formats used in video production, including various MXF files like XDCAM HD and P2HD are supported. The unit is very useful for building a file-based system allowing for the effective use of existing baseband system assets.
| Playback of Miscellaneous File Formats Supported |
Support for audio files conforming to various formats |
Supported file formats are provided in plug-in form and more will be added as needed |
Miscellaneous files can be collected via Ethernet in the main unit’s storage (SSD) |
Equipped with HD-SDI output and capable of outputting various files collected in the main unit as baseband signal |
Proves its effectiveness when you need to connect to a baseband system in an environment with multiple file formats mixed together |
Support for up to 8 channel audio output in embedded format |
| Control Software |
The control software uses thumbnail images, which let you confirm the content of recorded clips at a glance (file format, file name, metadata, icons, etc.) |
By incorporating footage into the “MediaConcierge™” media management system, the unit can be used as a clip server, with footage management and transmitted program control using a database. |
| *Metadata cannot be displayed in a uniform manner, since it will be read differently according to the file format. |
Application Examples
| Bank registration / File receiving terminal |
Ideal for use in systems that cannot limit file formats when importing footage |
Allows use as file input terminal when continuous bank operation is needed with baseband systems |
Media recorded by camcorder, etc, is forwarded to the MBP-100MP over drives manufactured by various companies and output via HD-SDI baseband signals |
Proc Amp and gain control function for video and audio output |
Files that are edited and produced in non-linear form are forwarded to the MBP-100MP over a network and output with HD-SDI baseband signals |
MBP is controlled by touch panel monitor, mouse, keyboard, etc. |
With connection to a VTR controller, supports even trick play features, such as of playback, stopping, fast forward and rewind (supported file formats limited) |
Also supports external triggers by GPI |
| Hardware Design Featuring the Latest Technologies |
The small EIA 1RU size and vibration-resistant case make it perfect for portable and on-board applications. |
Unlike products built on a PC platform, the product can be started up and shut down with a single power switch because of custom hardware. |
The custom hardware, developed by FOR-A, offers highly stable playback. |
Uses SSD for recorded media, resistant to vibration, yielding stable video |
| Plenty of Interfaces |
Ethernet: equipped with Ethernet support for 100Base-TX/ 1000Base-T, supports high speed file forwarding |
USB: Equipped with 4 channels of USB ports (2 each on front and back) conforming to USB 2.0, and allows connection to external drives, keyboard and mouse |
RS-422: Connection to an external controller enables various controls with VTR emulation command |
GPI: Equipped with GPI terminal (convenient for system building), enabling control of playback and stop operations by GPI (3 input, 3 output) |

| Please note |
Changing between footage in different file formats may cause change over shock in the video and audio signals involved |
Baseband input is not supported |
File format conversion is not supported |
There are limitations on file formats capable of seamless playback or trick playback |
Direct playback from miscellaneous media is not supported (planned for future support) |
