FOR-A to Showcase Expanded 3G Modular System at IBC 2009
New Up/Down/Cross Converter and Video Distribution Amplifier Being Introduced
August 6, 2009
London, UK, August 6, 2009 - FOR-A, a leading manufacturer of video and audio systems for the broadcast and professional video industries will showcase its cost effective 3Gbps upgradable UFM-30 Series during IBC2009, which runs Sept. 11-15 at the RAI Centre in Amsterdam (Hall 2, Stand A51/B59). The UFM-30UDC Up/Down/Cross Converter and UFM30DDA Video Distribution Amplifier are the newest products to be added to the popular UFM-30 Series made by FOR-A. Both will be introduced at the show.
Several enhancements have been made to the series, which now includes seven products. Included within the series are the: new UFM-30UDC and UFM-30DDA, UFM-30FS Modular Frame Synchronizer, UFM-30FSR Modular Frame Synchronizer with by-pass relay, UFM-30FSDA Modular Frame Synchronizer with Audio De-mux and Mux card, UFM-30UDC Up/Down/Cross Converter, UFM-30DCC Modular Digital Color Corrector, and UFM-30DDA Video Distribution Amplifier. The entire line can be controlled by IP network via UFM-30CTL.
The UFM-30UDC features an up/down/cross converter equipped with 3G/HD/SD-SDI input/output and an analog composite input and analog composite output for monitoring purposes. It supports 3G levels A and B and up to eight channels of embedded audio input/output and features a built-in frame synchronizer and aspect ratio converter. The UFM-30UDC also provides on-screen display (OSD) on preview output.
The new UFM-30DDA Video Distribution Amplifier allows for a single input to be distributed up to eleven ways through the use of the UFM-3DDAEX. It supports data rates of SDI 270Mbps, 1.5Gbps and 3Gbps and reclocks and equalizes 3G/HD/SD-SDI signals reducing noise and interference. The UFM-30DDA supports a DVB-ASI bit rate of 270Mbps.
The UFM-30FS provides a cost-effective solution for traditional frame sync needs in HD and SD applications. With 3Gbps upgrade capability, the HD/SD-SDI frame synchronizer features automatic change-over switching function and can work in traditional frame sync or line sync mode for minimum delay. The UFM-30FSR featuring by-pass relay will also be shown at IBC 2009.
In addition, the UFM-30FS is available with a UFM-30FSDA Audio De-mux and Mux card. It features an audio de-multiplexer and a choice of asynchronous or synchronous output. Equipped with four digital audio outputs, it can output any four groups from 16-channel embedded audio. And an audio multiplexer is equipped with four digital audio inputs, and can re-embed and output a combination of any 16 channels out of eight external digital audio channels and 16 audio channels embedded in video signal.
The UFM-30DCC is an HD/SD color corrector with new dual-channel upgrade features. It offers three versatile modes: balanced, differential and sepia. Balanced mode is ideal for color correction of RGB signals, while differential mode allows for color correction without affecting white balance settings. Sepia mode is designed for working with color in monotone. Within each mode, the unit offers red, green and blue controls over white, black and gamma. The UFM-30DCC also offers full clip control. The card-based product is available in single-channel or dual-channel, and offers an upgrade to 3Gbps capability.
