FOR-A TO SHOWCASE RANGE OF MULTI-FORMAT SD/HD PRODUCTS AT GOVERNMENT VIDEO EXPO 2006

CYPRESS, CALIFORNIA, October 4, 2006 �| FOR-A Corporation of America, a leading manufacturer of video and audio systems for the broadcast and professional video industries, will showcase several new multi-format products designed for the government broadcasting, analysis and surveillance/CCTV markets at the Government Video & Technology Expo 2006. The event will be held December 6-7 at the Washington, DC, Convention Center, where FOR-A will exhibit in Booth #822.

FOR-A will demonstrate its HANABI HVS-500HS high definition/standard definition switcher; the VPS-700 GINGA 1 M/E digital switcher; the HANABI HVS-1000HS one mix/effect HD/SD switcher; the FA-9000 and FA-128 frame synchronizers; the MV-16S and MV-400 multi-viewers; and the IVS-100 video stabilizer.

HANABI HVS-500HS HD/SD Switcher
The HVS-500HS is an economical, compact and self-contained switcher that accepts HD and SD formats. It comes with 10-bit, 4:2:2 internal processing and is well suited for applications such as editing, studio production, mobile production, up-link vans, live production, broadcast television and live staging. The HANABI HVS-500HS offers a variety of input/output interfaces including HD/SD SDI, HD/SD analog, and VGA. It also connects to HDV cameras or PCs. The switcher is multi-format in HD for 1080/60i, 50i, 720/60p, 50p, 24p and is configurable in either NTSC or PAL.

HANABI HVS-1000HS Switcher
The HANABI HVS-1000HS switcher is a one mix/effect version of FOR-A�fs popular two M/E HANABI HVS-3800HS HD/SD switcher, which supports 1080i, 24p, 720p among other popular HD formats and standard definition. The HVS-1000HS switcher is a compact 2RU chassis for use wherever space is at a premium. The SD/HD switchable, multi-format switcher is ideal for a wide range of government and military production and post-production applications. The HANABI HVS-1000HS is also the first polygon-based HD DVE system available in the U.S., and supports NTSC, PAL and all high definition formats. Using real-time rendering, images can be mapped into 3D shapes such as page turns and spheres, and DVE effects can be created by full 3D processing.

VPS-700 GINGA 1 M/E Digital Switcher
The VPS-700 1 M/E digital switcher offers its users a universe of capabilities hence its name “Ginga,” which in Japanese means “Galaxy.” The VPS-700 GINGA includes frame synchronization for every input, up to 16 SD inputs and outputs, six keyers, six chroma keyers, and six channels of 3D DVE. The switcher offers optional 2D DVE in every input, delivering up to 32 DVE channels and total flexibility for multi-source productions. It supports the 525/60 and 625/50 standard definition formats and is ideal for mobile production and in-studio broadcasting applications.

Frame Synchronizers
The FA-9000 frame synchronizer supports all formats, including HD, SD, analog, digital and audio. It uses 12-bit internal processing for high-quality images and features an extensive array of additional functions, including an up-converter, down-converter, color corrector, median-based noise reduction, logo generator and a Dolby-E decoder in a compact 1RU size. The FA-9000 supports all video signal input and output formats for digital signals such as HD-SDI and SD-SDI and for analog component (HD and SD) and analog composite.

The FA-128 is the world's first 14-bit internal processing frame synchronizer. It comes as a stand-alone unit or as a modular card (UFM-128FS). Prior to the FA-128, even the most high-end frame synchronizers were only able to offer 12-bit digital processing. Now, with the FA-128, operators can take advantage of the clear, crisp images that only 14-bit processing can provide. Plus, with its half-rack size, the FA-128 does not occupy much space in the broadcast plant or the mobile unit.

Multi-Viewers
The MV-16S supports analog composite and SD-SDI mixed inputs. The viewer can be set to divide the screen in many ways, such as 4, 5+1, 8+1, 9, 12, 12+1 or 16 sections, enabling the combination of small and large images. The MV-16S also accepts asynchronous mixed input of analog composite and SD-SDI signals, and it is NTSC and PAL compatible (auto detect).

The MV-400 multi-viewer composite input/output quad display unit monitors up to four channels of camera video with a single monitor. Thanks to its 1280 x 1024 pixel resolution, clean and crisp pictures can be output in real time in SXGA mode, for more detailed surveillance requirements. The MV-400 allows for both two and four split-screen modes and up to four asynchronous composite signal (color, B/W) inputs.

IVS-100 Video Stabilizer
Thanks to its +12V DC operation, the IVS-100 is ideal for mobile video applications such as within cars, planes, boats, etc. It can also be used in a wide range of monitoring systems �| from highway and railroad monitoring to weather cameras. The IVS-100 is capable of real-time correction of unsteady images on live video or correction on prerecorded tapes. It can correct unsteadiness, while automatically recognizing panning and zooming. The IVS-100�fs compact size and functionality are ideal for field applications.
