Several Products Highlight IBC Booth for FOR-A, Including Multi-Bit Rate and Dual Link Switchers

CYPRESS, CA, August 15, 2005 – At IBC 2005 in Amsterdam next month, FOR-A, a leading manufacturer of digital SD and HD systems for the broadcast and professional video industries, will offer the first European demonstration of its one M/E digital switcher, the VPS-700 GINGA. The GINGA provides fresh ways for creativity for operators in live production and editing suites.

“Ginga” means “galaxy” in Japanese, and the VPS-700 represents a universe of options for users, including 2D DVE for every input, up to 16 SD inputs and outputs, six keyers, six chroma keys and six channels of 2D or 3D DVE.

The VPS-700 offers optional 2D DVE in every input, delivering up to 32 DVE channels and total flexibility for multi-source productions. It supports the 525/60 and 625/50 standard definition formats and is ideally suited for mobile production and in-studio broadcasting applications. It features eight standard inputs, each of which has a frame synchronizer and still store feature using the F/S freeze and eight standard outputs, which can be increased by increments of four to up to 16 primary inputs, 16 outputs and six key layers (four keyers and two DSK).

FOR-A’s HANABI HVS-3800HSSD/HD switchable, multi-bit-rate switcher will also be profiled at the show.The HVS-3800HS is a multi-bit-rate combination of FOR-A’s well-known HANABI HVS-3000S standard definition and HVS-3000H high definition 2 M/Eswitchers. The HVS-3800HS features the first polygon-based HD DVE available in theU.S. and supports all major standard and high definition formats, including 1080i, 24p, 23.98SF, and 720p, among others.
