FOR-A'S NEW IHC-600 HIGH-RESOLUTION NETWORK CAMERA CAPTURES FINE DETAIL IN SURVEILLANCE, OBSERVATION NETWORKS
Images Remain Crystal Clear When Enlarged or Zoomed in for Closer Inspection

CYPRESS, CALIFORNIA, June 8, 2004 - FOR-A Corporation of America, a leading manufacturer of audio and video systems for the broadcast and professional video industries, has unveiled a new high-resolution camera that can display very small detail when used in critical surveillance/observation networks. High-resolution imaging (six million valid pixels), an internal digital recorder and network interface are all packaged into the IHC-600's compact camera head.
Introduced at the recent IFSEC show in Birmingham, UK, the IHC-600 High Resolution Network Camera is well suited for LAN surveillance/observation systems used in large areas such as parking lots, fields, shopping districts, etc. The IHC-600 provides a 2880x2160-pixel picture, resulting in a resolution of some six million effective pixels. This level of resolution assures the most pristine, razor-sharp images of any comparable camera system on the market. The image remains clear even when enlarged several times or when a portion (such as a person's face or an automobile license plate number) is zoomed in for close inspection.
The IHC-600's compact camera head houses an internal digital recorder - a 30 GB hard drive disk with JPEG compression, allowing greater than seven hours of recording with six million pixel picture resolution. A network interface allows monitoring by a PC or laptop. Features include a time/data search function and various recording modes (continuous, one-shot, etc.).
Using the IHC-600's standard LAN port, users can deploy distance surveillance via Ethernet. While unlimited number of cameras can be connected, up to four units can be displayed at a time and controlled on the camera's CRT monitor.
"In this age of heightened security concerns, the new IHC-600 provides the level of resolution needed to isolate and magnify portions of an picture captured in large areas for close inspection," said Hiro Tanoue, Sales Manager/Eastern Region and Central/South America, for FOR-A Corporation of America. "Whether it is used in a government office building parking lot or a train platform, this high-resolution network camera will be a highly valuable member of any security team and should generate a great deal of interest in the surveillance/observation market."
