FOR-A INTRODUCES DCC-70HS HD/SD COLOR CORRECTION SYSTEM DURING NAB 2004

New 4:4:4 Processing Brings High-Definition Image Quality to Popular Color Signal Enhancement Product Family

Feb 2nd, 2004

CYPRESS, CA, NAB 2004 Booth #C5628, February 2, 2004 – At NAB 2004, FOR-A Corporation of America will introduce a new multi-format, multi-standard (high- and standard- definition) version of its DCC-700 digital color corrector, which is used extensively by professionals throughout the broadcast, production and post production industries. It offers superior 14-bit, 4:4:4 component signal processing circuitry and the ability to control Black, White and Gamma (RGB) levels individually or as a group.

The new DCC-70HS is the latest addition to FOR-A’s comprehensive line of high-quality color correction products that includes the popular CCS-4360 analog color corrector and the DCC-700 serial digital (SDI) version. Signaling their support of the new product, all-sports network ESPN recently bought 40 units to install throughout its new HD Production Center.Recent broadcast customers of the DCC-700 include CNBC (18 units in three large production control rooms) and Turner Entertainment (four units aboard a new HD production truck).

The cost-effective and compact DCC-70HS supports both SD and HD signals and is ideally suited for facilities where producing and distributing multi-format projects is critical to their business. This includes HD SDI: 1080/59.94i and 1080/50i; 720p/59.94 and 720p/60 and SD SDI: 525/60, 625/50.

Since the DCC-70HS is capable of processing signals in the 1080i and 720p HD formats, it is perfect for post facilities and mobile truck companies that often switch between the two for different clients. The new color corrector also provides a secure upgrade for those customers producing content in SD today and plan to make the transition to HD in the future.

“Customers have been asking for a HD version of the DCC-700, and we are now happy to provide that,” said Hiro Tanoue, Sales Manager/Eastern Region and Central/South America, FOR-A Corporation of America. “Having the flexibility to operate in both SD and HD modes is a big benefit for customers who want to ensure that their investment will support both formats. This allows the DCC-70HS to remain valuable to them as their business evolves.”

The FOR-A DCC-70HS HD Color Corrector is a digital I/O system offering balanced, differential, or sepia color enhancement of all types of video signals. It includes separate or group control of R, G, B, white, and black levels plus gamma for each component. It also provides correction settings for up to 99 events and clip setting data memory of up to nine events, and separate control of Y&C white clip and Y black clip, processing presets, GPI auto recall presets during multiple source operations. The DCC-70HS control panel can control up to four DCC-700 or DCC-70HS main units individually or simultaneously.
